Deep enough to fit a mattress with a topper.
I bought a new mattress which has a topper. I needed a sheet which would be deep enough to be able to tuck under. This fits well and seems good quality for the price.

We bought a tempur mattress. I bought a fitted sheet from another retailer. We purchased the right size . But The sheet kept coming off the corners, because a tempur mattress conforms you need more room. Buying a deep fitted sheet was the answer. It works, no more waking up to the sheet being off . The only downside was there was no white ones in stock so bought the mink colour as a neutral. The sheet does wrinkle with the higher cotton percentage.
