I have always bought lambs wool socks for many years. They wear very well. The only thing is that my wife tends to put them in the washing machine with normal detergent. They need washing in a wool cleaner or otherwise over the years they shrink. I have never had any develop holes. Brilliant and comfortable.

For socks I much prefer wool to "cotton-rich" (since when has that been a good thing?) or synthetic; and I get great wear out of this wool mix. I would strongly advise 30º wash and not tumbling - hotter wash seems to shrink them, tumbling definitely does.

I bought these socks last week. They are supposed to be size 6-8.5 and I am size 9. They are far to big and would be fit a size10 and above. They also fall down around my ankles. I decided to buy luxury socks and paid a bit more than normal. Big mistske! Do not buy these socks!!

Not bad. markedly restricted in colour choice, ie you can't get them in the lovely colours u can get other sizes in. I would have preferred to buy those. These, for some reason, don't feel so warm as the smaller sized ones used to feel. ? reduced wool content.
